- Electric Cars
- Updated On - January 2, 2022
Here are five inexpensive electric cars in the North American market. People have been travelling around the world for decades with gas-powered vehicles. As they progressed, they improved safety, acceleration, comfort, and speed. However, they couldn’t eliminate the harmful emissions from the exhaust systems.
Currently, electric technology has stormed the automobile industry with advanced batteries becoming compact and powerful. This has fed the vehicles and is fast replacing gasoline as the main driving force for them. It’s an era of green environments where electric vehicles (EVs) promise emission-free movement.
They compete for a higher range, faster charging times, lighter weight, a quieter cabin, and the most significant for consumers, an affordable price.
Major automakers like Nissan, Toyota, GM, and others are all racing to produce a car that is cheap, fast, has long range, and a short charging time.
Innumerable EVs are being developed worldwide with a range of around 250 to 350 km and can reach speeds of 130 km/hr. Charging speeds have decreased dramatically and in most vehicles have reached almost an hour.
Automakers like Tesla are also working to reduce the price of the battery by trying to switch from Li-ion to Iron-air batteries the latter being cheaper to produce and Iron being more easily available from the surface while Lithium is difficult to mine basically coming from the core of the earth.
