5 significance of Tesla 3 you should know

Performance, Range and affordability mark Tesla 3 in EV market today. In this briefly we have gathered  five important criteria on which Tesla stands out from other EVs in the automotive market.

1. Pricing

Tesla Model 3 prices fluctuate from time to time. All three models of the Tesla Model 3 are eligible for the tax credit by the government which is $7500.

The Rear-Wheel Drive Model is around $40,000.

Long-Range Model which comes with two motors and all-wheel drive is about $47,000.

Performance Model which is the fastest model and has two motors is about $53,000.

Tesla 3 stands in the higher middle-class range of affordability. With more advancements in battery technology, the price may see a dip in the days ahead.

2. Range

The Tesla Model 3 boasts one of the lengthiest ranges in the EV market. New technologies yearly expand electric vehicle range, nearing parity with gas-powered counterparts.

The base Model 3 has an estimated range of 333 miles.

The Model 3 is available in various versions, each offering different ranges. With dual motors and all-wheel drive, the Model 3 Long Range achieves an impressive range of 358 miles.

The Model 3 Performance, featuring a dual motor, achieves a range of 315 miles.

Driving speed, environment, climate control, and terrain affect the Tesla Model 3 range.

3. Acceleration, Battery and Charging Power

One very attractive feature of Tesla 3 is its acceleration.

It has fabulous acceleration matching sports cars. The performance models hit 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds.

The long-range model takes about 5.1 seconds to achieve the same.

The Tesla Model 3 offers varying battery capacities based on the model. The Rear-Wheel Drive has a 57.5 kWh battery, and the Long Range/Performance versions sport a 75 kWh battery. These are Lithium-ion batteries manufactured by Panasonic in Nevada in collaboration with Tesla.

The Performance and Long Range models come equipped with an 11.5 kW (48 amp) onboard charger. While the Rear-Wheel Drive model features a 7.7 kW (32 amp) onboard charger.

When using a Wall Connector with an 11.5 kW / 48 amp output, Tesla vehicles can achieve 44 miles of range per charging hour.

    • Charging speed is influenced by factors like car and ambient temperature.

    • Battery life and condition, along with in-vehicle energy loads, also impact charging speed.

4. Fuel Economy, Safety and Warranty

Tesla achieves estimated MPGe ratings between 113 and 141, as determined by the EPA.

The safety features of the Tesla Model 3 rank among the best in the automotive industry. These include standard automated emergency braking, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control.

The warranty for the Tesla Model 3 varies depending on the specific model and component. The basic vehicle limited warranty covers 4 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first.

The powertrain, comprising the battery and drive unit, is covered by a separate warranty. The Model 3 Short Range has an 8-year or 100,000-mile warranty, while the Model 3 Long Range offers an 8-year or 120,000-mile warranty.

Tesla ensures at least a 70% retention of battery capacity throughout the warranty period.

5. Interior and Infotainment

The Tesla Model 3’s comfortable and simplistic design captures the attention of potential buyers.

All information is displayed on the spacious central screen. Thanks to the floor-mounted battery, there’s ample space inside.

The front has ample room and leg space, but the back seats feel a bit cramped, leaving you wishing for more rear space.

Folding the seats reveals a generous storage area, capable of accommodating about 13 to 15 carry-on bags, creating a large cargo space.

Despite the small spaces around the cabin, the interior is rather ordinary. The central dashboard features the infotainment system, including navigation, on a large screen.

Have fun with Netflix and YouTube while your car charges. These choices offer a valuable and enjoyable way to pass the time during the charging process.
